South Bend, Indiana is known as the home of the University Of Notre Dame. We here at Basney Honda fully support the Fighting Irish and have been known to offer the students there a special price on our Honda vehicles with our sales every once in a while. We love the University Of Notre Dame for its fun sprit at sporting events, its beautiful campus, and its rich history. Be sure to check out what sports are in town and maybe catch the Fighting Irish in action. Or perhaps check out the Snite Museum of Art located on their South Bend Campus. It often features some beautiful drawing and prints.
Of course, as we mentioned before, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish sports teams, especially football and basketball, are an experience in and of themselves. If you have the chance to be on their campus during Game Day, you will discover an event you will never forget. From the tailgating to the 1812 Overture played between the 3rdand 4thquarters of the football game, it’s definitely a great time. If you’re in the South Bend area, a visit to Notre Dame is a must. No matter if you’re heading to a sports event or just go there for a campus tour, Notre Dame’s at the top of our list of places to see.

Located on the outskirts of South Bend, Basney Honda is located in Mishawaka, which was named the best place to raise your kids in Indiana in 2010 byBusinessWeek Magazine, and one of the big reasons why are the myriad of parks in the city. So, if you enjoy spending time outside, then you have to check out Mishawaka’s Riverwalk. Officially called the “River St. Joseph of the Miamis Trail,” the Riverwalk is a 2.5 mile loop of trail around the St. Joseph River. It’s a beautiful place to run, walk, bike, and spend some time with your family in the Misahawaka area.
There are lots of parks attached to the Riverwalk, but our favorite park is Beutter Park. During the summertime, you can come and listen to some great bands with the Mishawaka Summer Concert Series and check out some beautiful river views at the same time. It’s a wonderful place to relax with your family and friends. Beutter Park also hosted its first annual 5k run this past year, which was a lot of fun! Be sure to check out what’s going on at Beutter Park when you’re in the area.
